This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a second grade dual language (English/Spanish) teacher in the community of Bushwick, in Brooklyn, NY. 99% of my students come from low income families and 30% of them struggle with housing. We are in great need of an easel that students can use to show their understanding of academic subjects. In our classroom, students use an easel to correct math errors and to show different strategies to solve math problems. The one we currently have is semi-broken and makes it almost impossible for me or my students to use it. We thank you in advance for your generous support.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
