My students are kindergarten students that are eager to learn! They are curious, energetic and thrive on hands on learning. They are a very diverse class all with individual needs. They are hard workers who deserve the best. Being five and six years old means learning through play. We use a play based curriculum so that students can get the best hands on education. Many of my students can not sit for a long period of time to learn and listen.
My classroom is a place where ALL students can learn no matter what.
I plan with students strengths and weaknesses in mind so that I am meeting their maximum learning potential. My students come from all over the city of Boston and have a wide range of backgrounds. It is my job to give them the education that they deserve and to develop life long habits for learning.
My Project
My students need a magnetic easel to help with our Foundations phonics program. The phonics program that I teach is the foundation for helping students learn to read and write. In this program are many hands-on activities where the teacher and students write together. We are writing sounds in words, sentences and tricky words that they are using. We need a magnetic write word to display magnetic letters and magnetic strips for whole group instruction. Many students come to Kindergarten having very little to no literacy skills. This will helps students learn the foundation skills in order to be successful later on.
