My students are the best first-graders around! Our school is filled with the most creative, positive, and innovative children I have ever witnessed. We are a Kindergarten through 5th grade school, with just over 600 students in all. There is a large mixture of ethnicity, economic, religious, and social diversity. Our school also has 85% eligible for free or reduced price lunch.
For several of these children, our school is the safest place for them.
Even throughout their life struggles, my students are still eager to learn and never give up. One of the amazing things about first graders is their passion for school and learning throughout the entire school year. My favorite thing about first grade is watching how much my students can develop throughout the school year.
My Project
This project is quite simple. I simply am needing an easel at the front of my classroom. Easels have been valuable teaching tools for years. There are so many amazing options to choose from, but I feel that this easel would benefit and fit in our particular classroom the best. The easel we are asking for has a magnetic white board side and a felt board on the other side. These are both things we use daily in the classroom. I also appreciate the rings at the top to display all our anchor charts the students enjoy creating.
Having materials visibly accessible should not be an area of concern in a child's educational situation.
This easel would be in the front of the classroom where it could display class materials we are currently working on, or even student examples to show off to the class. The fact that the wheels lock will help keep the classroom a safe, secure environment. We currently use an easel that was made for me, however I feel like it isn't the safest or most accessible item for students to be using. Thank you for considering a donation to our project!
