Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My 5th grade students are excited to learn and grow from every experience they are presented with. They are enthusiastic writers that use their personal experiences to color their creative stories. They are intrigued by science and technology and they have a drive to understand the diverse world around them.

My students’ brains are open to all possibilities that are presented to them and they make the most of each learning opportunity.

They are highly motivated to succeed each and every day!

My Project

This class set of headphones will allow each student to concentrate on listening to only their computer.

Currently, we have no headphones, and when we are using our laptops for educational purposes, activities and content is broadcast for all to hear resulting in what you'd imagine a casino or arcade to sound like, not a classroom.

These headphones will allow students to focus on their independent computer sessions and do away with disrupting their neighbors or other classmates. My students also love to collaborate. The headphone splitters will allow students to work together using one device, sharing the same experience.

A classroom free of disruption will help lead my students toward being successful and productive as they learn how to use and make sense of technology.
