An Ear-Resistable Approach to Building Reading Skills

My Students

My students are a delight to teach. Despite the low poverty rate among my students, they possess a determination to learn and overcome this poverty even at such a young age. These students understand and value the importance of hard work and show it daily in their learning. As their teacher, and often times the only positive role model in their lives, I make it my mission each and every day to ensure my students receive the love and support needed to become successful adults. Without even realizing it, these amazing children inspire me to be not only a better educator, but a better individual.

My Project

Individual headphones for young students will allow the child to listen and read along with online books while using their electronic devices. This reading strategy promotes the mindset growth and helps the child develop a love for reading as well as strengthening their reading skills and ability levels. By having their own headphones to use with their devices, students can listen and read along with books that are of interest to them without having to hear the sounds/noises coming from other areas of the classroom. Headphones allow students to focus more on what they are reading without being distracted.
