An Ear-resistable Approach to Building Better Focus in the Classroom

My students need noise-cancelling headphones, fidget bands, and stress balls to help with concentration in the classroom.

My Students

I teach in a Title I school in Graham, Washington. There is not a lot of parent involvement or support. My students want to learn, but have a very hard time focusing and engaging in the activities. Many of them or more worried about what’s going on outside of school than what is happening at school. I would like to find ways to help them be more successful, not only in school, but in life. I know with the right tools they can be successful!

My Project

Having noise cancelling headphones, fidget bands, and stress balls in the room will be extremely helpful. Currently students have to try to maintain focus even in an loud classroom, having access to headphones will allow students to continue working even when other things are happening in the classroom. The fidget bands and stress balls will keep their body moving so their mind can focus.

The donations for this project will improve my classroom by reducing the number of behavioral issues, because my students will have access to materials to meet their needs.

With fewer behavioral issues, students will have more on task time. This means more time for learning and improving skills!
