My Project

The Metamorphosis is a novella that will engage my students and help them explore existentialism, which is something students ponder without even realizing it.

Students want to find meaning in life.

This text will help guide them into thinking and exploring who they are and how what they do or can do impacts their existence. After reading this text, student will create their own written narrative about their life story and look at who they are and where they hope to go in life. This story leads students to explore who they are now and who/what they want to be in the future.

This book helps students realize they can determine their own path in life. High school students are constantly questioning who they are and this text helps them think about these things and contemplate .

This unit relates to State Common Core standards in both reading and writing of narratives.
