An Axolotl for Amazing Students

Help me give my students experience with a live pet called an axolotl.

My Project

My fourth grade students have been working hard all year long to maintain good grades, positive behavior, and to spread kindness to our school. As a reward for their hard work they voted to get a class pet. After much deliberation and discussion, we decided that an axolotl is the pet for us.

Axolotls are Mexican salamanders that can regenerate damaged body parts, remain aquatic their entire life, and are fairly easy to take care of and beyond fun to watch.

My students plan on taking care of it by using schedules and spreading the responsibility to everyone. We are requesting a terrarium and other supplies to create the perfect habitat for our class pet.
