Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
All children are artists, Pablo Picasso famously quoted. My students are artists. They are creative, imaginative and full of energy! My students love to experiment with new art mediums and think outside the box. They come to each week to our art club excited and ready to unleash their creativity, and they blow my mind every week!
Our hand selected art club students thrive on independent originality.
They constantly push the boundaries of everyday storytelling by creating personalized accounts through picture representation. Utilizing their combined skills and imagination to narrate through drawings and color.
Many of my students have been a part of my art class since kindergarten and I am so proud of their growth and love of visual art. They are an amazing group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have my artistic learners that are excited and ready to create each and every day!
My Project
Our Art Club Members will each maintain an Art Sketch Journal to narrate and depict everyday accounts through their individual style and drawings. Members will be prompted to journal on related "real world" topics in order to compare individuality as well as overlapping environmental themes. Different artists portraying related life events using diverse talents and designs.
