An Area to Get Regulated in the Classroom

Help me give my students a relaxing area in the classroom to calm down.

My Project

The students in my classroom have a diagnosis of autism. There are times that they may become disregulated in the classroom and demonstrate challenging behaviors. Perhaps they did not get enough sleep, there was a schedule change, they were having a sensory overload, or communication difficulties. Creating a safe space where my students can go to get regulated is essential to their well-being and success. The swivel chairs with pull-down hoods and the pop-up tent will allow my students to regulate their bodies and return to a calm state.
