An Apple TV To Help Us All See

Help me give my students an Apple TV System, so we can project our information on our iPad to make our lessons interactive.

My Students

I have the pleasure of working in a Chicago Public School. I teach a wonderful group of diverse learners that are in grades Kindergarten to 3rd grade.This is my first year teaching special education.

I am working to provide my students with the right resources and materials to be successful in school.

My Project

For the last year in a half, we have taught virtually. Exposing kids to technology has played a big part in that. However, now that we are coming back into the building, I've realized that my students and I are in need of a way to project our screens. Students learned so much about utilizing technology, and I would love to build on that. I believe even more success can be made with the use of an Apple TV for instruction, as we have moved towards utilizing tech in the classroom.

The Apple TV enables either students or teachers to mirror their work/iPad to a large screen.

Using AirPlay, which comes standard on Apple devices, I can share what you see on one device on a big screen. We can essentially make a document camera out of any iPad in our classroom.

I will be able to teach and provide feedback, all while walking about the room wirelessly with my iPad/computer connected to the big screen. I will be able to facilitate collaboration between students, so all can see what they are working on. I will be able to display student-generated or teacher-produced anchor charts and concept maps which the kids can screenshot for reference.
