My Students

My eager and hardworking students in urban Indianapolis are enjoying being challenged in math this year. My students are high energy learners who like to be engaged in our math lessons. They are mostly from low-income homes so access to any technology is highly beneficial for their learning. My numerous Special Education as well as my English Language Learner students find technology as a way to bridge the learning gap as well. All my students enjoy having additional responsibilities in the classroom and are eager to earn the Apple Pen. I have seen academic and social emotional growth just in the first nine weeks!

My Project

My students are high energy learners who like to be engaged in our math lessons. Our classroom gets loud and energetic as we learn, so anything that is interactive and captures our attention is a tool we will use on a daily basis.

I have also found that they learn best if I actively move around the room to assist and encourage.

It's hard to write on a white board while moving around the room though! We have an iPad which has been helping, and I know an Apple Pen will assist my students reach all our academic goals!

I foresee having the students use the Apple Pen to share ideas to the class. I routinely ask them to write their own word problems and the Apple Pen will allow them to easy share these problems with the class. We also are working hard at improving our writing skills so the Apple Pen will allow students to share writing ideas as well.

They will enjoy using it to share their ideas with each other.
