My Students
I am a Paraprofessional for Bay View Middle School. I work alongside the Special Education teacher, Mrs. Verhagen. Our group of students are such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. We have our own little community, that we relate based upon what we have in common and celebrate our differences. We praise every win and we do our very best to meet every need and accommodate each of our students.
My Project
Currently, we are virtually learning. As you can imagine, this has been a huge learning curve not only for teachers, but for our students, as well. Each day, students use iPads to complete their assignments and attend virtual classes. Some of the programs they use to complete their assignments, require writing.
Now, imagine signing your name on a credit card machine at a store.
Or attempting a virtual signature, maybe for a bank. It never turns out very recognizable and certainly not legible, right? That’s the exact same situation our students are currently in. We are immensely grateful that our school provides students with the technology needed to be able to continue learning at home. But, we are in need of a tool that will assist the students with writing on their Ipad.
How can you help? I'm glad you asked! We are looking to provide our students with a Smart Pen that they can use while learning from home, but also continue to use once we are back to in person learning. This will greatly help our students with completing their daily assignments and ultimately, assist them with becoming better learners.
