Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I will soon welcome a new group of bright and curious 6th graders, each with a unique learning style and I will need the appropriate technology to meet their needs and support their success.

In addition to helping me plan and deliver engaging lessons and daily activities, the MacBook Pro will be an additional resource in the classroom to support students’ individual needs such as speech to text features.

Individual students will be able to use the MacBook Pro to begin communicating their Math and Science reasoning in writing. As our school community transitions to fully inclusive classrooms, students with disabilities who are not able to type or write as quickly will still have the opportunity to share their bright ideas with the support of the MacBook Pro. By using the latest accessibility features on the MacBook Pro, students will still have the opportunity to see their writing pieces published and celebrated.

Additionally, in Science class, the laptop will be an available research tool which will support students’ skills to find sufficient and appropriate evidence, a key 21st Century skill. The MacBook Pro will also allow tremendous flexibility in how they choose to communicate their findings as they will be able to record themselves communicating the information or organize their understanding in a visual presentation. The technology will further convince students of the excitement in the endless possibilities of learning and applying their Math and Science knowledge.
