Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have a classroom full of bright, energetic kindergarten students in a low income, urban setting. Most of my students don't have books or learning materials at home, and they haven't been exposed to how interesting and fun learning can be. There are so many resources my students could use to help them learn, but money is tight, so we're using donors choose to help make our classroom a better learning environment where we can learn more, learn better and learn faster!

My Project

I would like a MacBook Pro to research teaching strategies that I can apply in my classroom with my students. I would also use the MacBook to take online classes, follow teaching blogs and read current research articles that will impact my teaching and help me improve my practice.

This laptop will also enable me to learn how to use things like Google classroom tools and other media that will help me become a more engaging teacher.

This laptop will allow me to grow and expand my teaching horizons which will make me an even better teacher for my students.
