This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Education is changing rapidly along with the rapid advancement of technology. My students are facing this changing world, but sadly the technology provided in our classrooms by state funding is minimal.
My students live in a rural area of Hawaii.
Many walk and ride their bikes to school. My students come from all walks of life and come from many countries around the globe. Some of my students are second language learners and are using English mainly at school.
My Project
My students are growing up in an ever-changing world of fast-paced technology, but are not keeping up with other classrooms around the globe. Many classrooms across the country are using computers and iPads to help with reading, math skills, science and social studies. Applications available on iPads are engaging and can hold students' interest with interactive games and higher-level thinking skills. iPads are portable and can be used anywhere in the classroom and can be used individually or in a small group. They can also be used to help meet the needs of diverse learners through enrichment or remedial activities. There are wonderful programs for teachers as well to help monitor student progress and present classroom lessons.
