Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) teacher for grades Pre-K to 5th grade at our school. I teach all classes including general education, special education, and gifted students. We do a lot of hands-on projects in the classroom and always need more materials. The students are excited about class and eager to learn. The students use a variety of materials to complete their projects. I need materials to cover all grade levels that will help support my STEAM program.
My Project
Due to recent events that are not in anyone's control, most, if not all of my students are home all day. Our entire school system has shut its doors because of these events in order to keep students and staff safe. Students have been asked to do something they have never done before - remote learning. Teachers have been asked to do something they have never done before - remote teaching.
Help me provide a better remote learning experience for my students by allowing me to have technology that I can use anywhere, such as my backyard, to take my students on a small nature walk or demonstrate an experiment in my kitchen.
Once our school reopens, I will continue this experience with all of my students allowing them to use the laptop for classroom activities.
