This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This year, I am team-teaching fifth grade optional and working closely with my fellow fifth-grade teachers.

We are a school that is trying to bring back the arts in everyday learning.

The students and teachers work hard to bring arts into our everyday learning. We work with not only drawing but in creating songs, writing music, designing buildings, etc. We are a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free lunch.

We need your help. We are in an urban area with very few prospects for the future. We are working to change that and want your help.

My Project

Hello and thank you for taking the time to check out my project. I am asking for an Apple MacBook Air laptop to support my students' learning. As you may have read, we are a school with a focus on arts education and so I am trying to bring in better technology to fit this aspect.

This laptop will be used to mainly support the art projects done in class along with our virtual field trips as we move back toward normal.

Every year we are normally granted special tickets and a chance to meet the cast and learn about the parts involved in creating a play. After we spend time doing special activities with the cast, we are invited to go on a special evening field trip to see their play. We saw Shrek the Musical and it was fantastic.

While I understand that even when we do go back, these will not be allowed. However, by doing these virtual, we are still able to share some of the experiences with our students that they will otherwise miss out on.

In addition, students will be using this to assist in art skills and working on their own scripts.
