My students are very eager learners. They all come from various backgrounds and have different experiences when it comes to learning. My students are very earnest in their desire to be successful academically.
The MacBook Air I am requesting will assist me in aiding my students in accessing the curriculum and also provide accommodations to them in my co-taught English Classes.
I help support their learning! As a special education teacher, I am helping my students to create who they want to be in the future. As the times continue to change and move, it is important that my students have the opportunity to have technology that will help them access the world wide web and create things that are expressions of who they are. As we continue to explore works of Baldwin, Angelou, Shakespeare, Sophocles, and other literary heroes and heroines, it is important that they have the device to allow this to happen. As the Special Education teacher, I provide support in assisting our students attain access to the work provided. Some of my students may end up becoming our next generations Toni Morrison or Jason Reynolds and we are hoping to have a device that would allow our young minds to do this great work. As Maxine Greene has said, "part of teaching is helping people create themselves."
