My students, residents of Washington, DC, are part ofan opportunity acadeny that seeks to accelerate their deferred route to graduation. Our public high school gives children from Washington, DC, a second chance at completing thier high school diploma. Our students represent various cultures and academic abilities. They arrive at school each day, overcoming many obstacles, most traveleing about an hour on public transportation, eager to obtain their high school diploma.
I am a high school special education teacher who primarily teaches disadvantaged and English Language Learners by hands-on experiences and dynamic visual representations.
As we return have returned to in-person learning, students are in need of hybrid workspaces in their classroom that allow them to begin blended learning. Blended learning fuses traditional in-class learning with indepedent virtual work. Given our experiences with virtual learning and students' acclimation to this style of learning, they can now benefit from both virtual and traditional styles of learning throughout a regualr, pandemic free school year. Students minds need to reacclimatize to in-class and hybrid environments and a dedicated workspace for tech-centered learning is important to this process.
This Apple product will contribute to hybrid learning and giving students a workstation that is compatible with all the current and future technolologies with will use in the classroom daily.
