Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at Lincoln Street School are one of a kind. They are excited and motivated to learn! Most of my students are fluent in more than one language. Students come from all over the world and speak many different languages. They come from all different cultures and backgrounds with one goal in common, to become educated. I was fortunate enough to come into this second-grade class halfway through the year and immediately see growth! During these trying times of COVID-19, it is uplifting to see each of my students get excited about remote learning.
My Project
iPads offer an array of opportunities for learning. We currently use Chromebooks, that we share with other second grade classes. Although we do not use iPads yet, our student portal Clever is currently only compatible through apple. The use of iPads would be beneficial to our classroom by creating a fun and new way to use technology. It would be used as a work center, where they can go and read a story online, listen to an article, or practice math facts. IPads offer a wide range of learning oppurtunities that my students would be excited about!
