Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a variety of different backgrounds. We are a Title I school, and many of my students are second language learners. Even though I cannot see their smiley faces in person, they are excited about being at school and are ready to learn.
Diversity in the classroom is important to me.
I use a variety of tools to reach each student. Meeting them at their level is the best way for them to achieve their goals.
My students are hardworking and eager to learn. They are intrigued by new information and new situations. Watching them reach the goals they set for themselves is the best feeling ever. I love seeing the students' faces when they "get" something.
My Project
Having an Apple iPad and an Apple Pencil to use with my class will help my students be able to see clearly what I need to project for them. Currently, this is not an option for my class. Having the high definition lens of an iPad will allow students who are working from home to clearly see what needs to be viewed and will allow me to annotate or add directions on my screen.
Distance learning is difficult even for the best of my students.
Allowing a picture to be seen with definition and clarity helps children become and stay engaged.
This iPad and Apple Pen will further enhance what needs to be viewed from the classroom. I will use this iPad to project pictures and annotate on my screen. I currently cannot do this. It will open up a whole new learning opportunity for my students.
