Our elementary school is an urban Title 1 school where the vast majority of students receive Free or Reduced Lunch.
What we lack in resources, we make up for in fun!
Each year, my approximately 25 energetic and fun first grade students' favorite memories include daily read alouds, literacy and math stations, STEM projects and experiments, singing, dancing, and a variety of different art and writing projects. How cool that their favorite memories include so much learning! One of the best things about first graders is that they LOVE to LEARN!!!
My Project
Math and literacy stations are an important and fun way for students to practice skills and for me to differentiate learning. Technology resources are an exciting part of this portion of our day. Currently we have three computers in the classroom that students use for 15 minute rotations approximately every other day. I am requesting three ipad minis to effectively double the number of students who are able to use technology during our day. Students will use the tablets to read digital books, write and develop books of their own, practice math and spelling skills, research projects through videos and online magazines, and interact with maps as we learn about our world.
Technology enhances learning and engages students!
By donating to this project, you will provide students with the opportunity to create, problem solve, and interact with others in the classroom and the world around us. Please help me bring learning to life!
