Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Transitional Kindergarten students need a computer that they can enjoy over and over as they start to practice their new found knowledge. Our classroom computers are are no longer working. An Apple computer will bring life back to our technology and inspire my students to enjoy learning.

My young dynamic learners are just turning five and just love coming to school.

These little scholars are seeing everything for the first time. They are a welcomed inspiration. My combination class keeps me on my feet. I need the right tools. I have a group of Transitional Kindergarten students with many needs, but I see how much they enjoy time on the computer. Many lack mouse and keyboard skills because they don't have access to computers at home. They also have to share learning time on the computer with their Kindergarten classmates. An Apple computer is the right technology for these bright hard working kids. They can have access to many educational apps and the opportunity to start writing and sharing their stories as they lack small motor skills.

My Project

My Transitional Kindergarten students want to share their stories and are just learning about letters. A good computer will help inspire my TK students to write and practice mouse and keyboard skills. This computer will help them to produce and illustrate personal narratives as they gain self confidence and their small motor skills improve. The Apple MacBook Pro computer, will be used during center time and my TK students will take turns using it to practice letter sounds and building words. The learning is endless with so many educational apps available. This computer will have everything they deserve as they begin to use technology on a daily basis. I want them to be able to use sentence frames to write simple stories. This computer will enhance my students learning as they start creating simple sentences to practice high frequency words.

These young energetic learners want a turn on the computer.

They want to participate and have success in writing. Our school doesn't have any Apple computers for our students. Writing strategies and computer skills can improve using technology in the classroom. My TK student deserve a great computer to master literacy and math skills. I can feel the energy my students bring with them and how excited they are to learn. We know that 21st century learners need the best technology to succeed.
