Teaching 1st grade in a pandemic has had its challenges but I see this year as a rollercoaster. I have a group of eager and energetic first graders who are excited about learning. I work in a title l school where 100% of my students receive free lunch. Despite the challenges of teaching in a pandemic, my students are resilient.
What I love most about my students is their true heart of compassion towards each other and myself, and their eagerness to learn.
My students this year have help aid in a new beginning.
My Project
My students and I have faced many challenges with virtual learning. Technology is the core of our learning experience. Some of the challenges that we have faced are computer overheating, quality of the presentation of video, pictures, and sound. Imagine six years olds looking up at their computer screens and noticing that their teacher is not there because she is having computer issues.
By receiving a MacBook I will be able to present my students with the quality, picture, and sound that will allow their virtual learning experience to be successful.
In addition, I will not be limited to only what my school-issued laptop can hold.
