My Students

I have a group of 18 kiddos from a wide variety of backgrounds. They are all so excited to walk into school every day despite what their home lives may have looked like that morning.

My students are very hands on, eager learners.

I try to provide them with exposure to as much technology as I can, but it would be so much more beneficial to have iPads for my students to use for specific apps to assist with reading, writing, math, and coding.

My Project

In my second grade classroom, 40% of my students are below reading level. These students come from very low-income homes and do not have much exposure to educational resources.

I would love to use the see-saw app and show my students how they can further explain their thinking.

iPads have specific apps for building both math and reading fluency, writing, and coding. One of the standards to meet in second grade is learning about technology and how it works. Having this hands on experience would give these students a whole new look at technology and what it can help us with!
