This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a speech-language pathologist at a middle school, in a Title I school. My students come from a low-income area in NYC, all from different backgrounds. My population consists of students with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities and intellectual disabilities. I strive to create an inclusive environment for all with any materials they might need.
Many of my students are visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners who enjoy learning and seeing new information displayed across multiple modalities.
I teach outgoing and outspoken students who love to learn and who want to succeed. As their speech teacher, my goal is to deliver all instruction through technology and virtual learning.
I am asking for a MacBook for my speech classes. I need a reliable and fast computer to keep up with the demands. An Apple computer integrates well with the technology I currently in use. This would streamline the learning process and be one less hurdle they would need to overcome. Students would be able to use this computer for classwork as well as assignments. Furthermore, I complete daily notes for students on their progress towards their speech goals. This Apple computer would allow me to input all my students notes on a daily basis in a more effective and timely manner.
