My Students

My students attend a large public middle school in New York City. Our school community consists of mostly working parents/guardians with a third of the students below poverty level. The student population at our school is extremely diverse. We have many military families from Fort Wadsworth, a large population of students with disabilities and many English Language Learners. Our school offers a variety of talent programs that gives students the opportunity to shine in various ways besides academically.

Our school is constantly working to bring new and innovative teaching methods to our students to prepare them for their future.

Our science department strives to bring hands-on culturally relevant STEM experiences to our students to help them easily understand and love Science.

My Project

My STEM classroom needs lots of cleaning supplies to ensure my school stays open and my students stay healthy. In order for me to engage my students in hands-on science learning I need a ton of wipes, paper towels and disinfectant. This will ensure that all lab equipment, such as microscopes, scales, and beakers are properly cleaned in between each use.

By helping me get these cleaning supplies I can continue to create engaging lessons in STEM for my students.

These supplies will also keep clean computers and lab desks. The funding of this project will be essential to keeping my students healthy and actively learning science.
