My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch every day, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. My students strive to do the very best they can to excel in the classroom.

Our county is one of the poorest in Florida.

Despite these challenges and the challenges in the world today, I do my best to provide a creative, meaningful, and safe learning environment for my students in order to help them to learn and grow as individuals and the future leaders that they have the potential to be.

My Project

Technology is a huge part of our everyday learning environment. This shelving unit will provide a safe way for the students in my classroom to store the chrome books that they use each and every day. Due to COVID-19, we are trying to eliminate any and all contact that we can.

This organizer would provide each child with his or her own slot to store their Chromebook in daily that will keep the Chromebooks away from each other in order to cut down on the spread of germs within the classroom.

It would also help the students learn organization and responsibility as they take special care to make sure that the Chromebooks are stored in the correct way each day.
