This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The resources selected were done so to target a calm learning environment. High school is not for the faint of heart. Student stress levels are through the roof. I’ve learned that by offering my students a calm, pleasant learning environment in which to learn relaxes them enough to actually pick up much needed skills in ELA. Classroom resources, such as highlighters, pencils, and paper will be utilized for daily instruction; where students pick up reading and comprehension strategies for testing.

By donating to our project you will be helping me transform not only my classroom, but my students’ overall academic achievements.

The majority of my students come from low income households and despite this many come eager to learn and truly appreciate the things they are given. This makes my students stand out amongst the rest. I see a change when they walk in the door and say, “my day is looking up Mrs. S!” It makes me realize that something as small as decorating a classroom can truly impact a student’s overall performance within a classroom and their emotional well being.

If with your help I’m able to provide that peaceful calm environment for my students it would truly be a blessing. Thank you!
