This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My high school students bound into the classroom full of curiosity and craving to learn. Our population of 1400 students is diverse with minority groups comprising 96% of our school. Though our school is underfunded and has its challenges, my students have expressed a lot of gratitude for what they are learning in my classes. I am motivated to give them the best possible education so that their learning is memorable and joyful.
The gratitude of my students makes me want to work harder to give them the best education possible.
In order to prepare them for the age they live in, I do my best to expose them to current practices in our modern world. To do this, I need your help to provide materials for hands-on biology and marine science experiments.
My Project
My students learn best from each other but the acoustics in my classroom combined with the quiet voices that most of my students use make it difficult for students to hear each other.
Voice Amplifiers will enable all students to be heard clearly when they present in class.
These amplifiers will help students to feel confident and will focus attention on the speaker. They will also help me maintain attention during discussions.
In addition to the amplifiers, we need a boost in supplies like paper for their science booklets, pencils, and pens. DonorsChoose.org has been a lifesaver for the last four years and I'm hoping you'll save and enrich us once again.
