This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

During my student-teaching experience, my mentor introduced me to the power of recorded academic discussions among students. We employed a highly effective method called Thoughts/Questions/Epiphanies, where students crafted talking points to guide their conversations. Witnessing the immense benefits of this approach, I am eager to continue fostering small group academic conversations in my classroom.

By providing students with microphones, I will be able to assess and monitor their conversations more effectively, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.

This student-centered approach empowers students to independently develop thoughtful and meaningful conversations with their peers. Additionally, these microphones will serve as valuable tools for students to record captivating storytelling podcasts, allowing them to enhance their narrative skills while building confidence in their speaking and listening abilities.

Together, we can amplify student voices and cultivate essential speaking and listening skills in an engaging and dynamic way.
