Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is made up of immigrants from different Hispanic heritages. We are considered a Title I school because our students come from a low-income area. I feel my students are special because many of them come here for the first time to live in a land of opportunity. For many of my students coming to America is a lifelong dream of their parents and will bring their child a brighter future.

As their music teacher, I try to bring culture and musical exploration to their lives.

Our music students love to perform. We annually perform in several school-wide concerts throughout the year. We love to sing for a local nursing home during the holiday season, bringing joy to the geriatric residents. In addition, my students enjoy performing at various events throughout Miami. At our school we love to create beautiful music to share with others as a team. Our school is also a center for special education students, many of the students are in wheelchairs. These students, no matter their limitations, love to create music and would benefit from a quality music program.

My Project

By donating these wireless microphones and bass amplifier it will help my chorus club and modern band tremendously. As my music program grows, we are looking to strengthen the quality of our sound system. In order to do that we will need to have stronger equipment to amplify my students voices and instruments while performing for school-wide concerts and around the community. Having these wireless microphones and a bass amplifier will help my chorus and modern band amplify their voices and musical instruments to a higher level. We would be able to continue including more students in our shows and more musical instruments in the modern band.
