My Project

Our students live in a rural area in Upper Michigan. We are a high poverty school district with one hundred percent of the students eligible for free breakfast and lunch. While our district may have experienced some tough times, we are a close knit community and my students are resilient and creative.

The layout of a classroom can have a large impact on how students learn.

I am in a need a few additional chairs (and to replace some broken ones) so my students all have a comfortable seat. Flexible seating is important to my energetic students and I like to have options for how classroom seating is arranged.

Bringing additional chairs into my classroom would allow all my students to use our tables when we divide up into teams for group work.

I think that this change would be conducive to creativity and group work and would help our classroom feel more modern, welcome, and inviting.
