This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We spent the last nine weeks of our school year doing distance learning. This was a complete 180 to how we normally teach and learn. In less than three weeks, we had to piece together a distance learning model that would service all our children using online and physical copies of work to be completed.
During this time, working with STEM was challenging because providing student the ability to continue hands on learning depended on their access to supplies at their homes.
To help with this, I put together learning kits for the students to follow along with lessons delivered live through our school's Facebook page and YouTube channel.
My Project
Providing digital lessons to elementary students requires creativity and eye catching components to engage the students in order to amplify their learning potential. I plan on using digital graphics, lessons, and creative fonts to help me create this goal of engaged learning.
Beginning this fall, we are going back to the classrooms in a very new normal which will include face to face and digital hybrid models.
I want to be prepared with great STEM lessons that can be delivered both in hard copy and digitally. I also like the idea of having access to lessons that other teachers have already had success in teaching.
