Help me give my students art supplies to paint a portrait of themselves as the solution in my American Problems class.

My Students
Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence, which is surprisingly sometimes the reason they don't turn in some of their assignments - they don't think the product is good enough. When I take the time to get to know them, I can't help but realize that they all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.
Even though many of my students are second language learners or have special needs, they all have a win-win attitude and do their personal best to contribute to our classroom community.
Many of them are also learning to adapt to realities very different than those they left behind. Nonetheless, they have big dreams! They dream of learning English, helping their families, and reaching their full potential. With your help, we can empower each student to believe that they matter – and that they can make a difference.
My Project
So many of my students are artists, but I rarely give them opportunities to paint. After having to teach an art unit a while ago, I learned about the power of using images to communicate.
While I have students complete research papers and write essays in my class, for one of the projects in which they examine an American Problem, I'd like them to focus on themselves as the SOLUTION.
Many times, teenagers are told they are the problem, and if we empower them and help them to see themselves - through a self-portrait or symbolic object of themselves - as the solution, perhaps they will be able to shift their perspectives of themselves and see how important and significant they are in today's society. I am asking for paint, canvas, markers and other art supplies for this project.
