My Project
My Deaf middle schoolers have just realized what the American Girl Company books are and the connection to the dolls. As a person who grew up reading those books and playing with the dolls, I was so excited to watch them make that connection and want to dive in.
In this project, I have requested both American Girl books that are more appropriate for some of our students' reading level and mini American Girl dolls. These American Girl mini dolls are fantastic hands-on tools so the students can actually touch, feel, and look at these historically accurate characters.
With these dolls, my students would be able to enjoy the books more and even be able to compare the characters and time period they represent just by looking at the dolls.
