Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My young students are kindergarten age. They are fun, energetic, and curious 5 to 6 year-olds. My students are ready to learn about math, reading, and writing. My students are eager to learn math facts, and how to be a good reader and writer.

We like to draw and write in our writing journals, and our teachers help us to write complete sentences.

It is exciting to be an author and an illustrator. We are also learning how to add and subtract, use a ten-frame, and count on a number-line. The supplies we need will help to stock up our reading, writing, and math centers. Who knows? Maybe we might have a famous author, illustrator, or the next math genesis in our class!

My Project

Let's help my young students to learn about the past in a meaningful way! Learning about social studies can be difficult for young students as they are learning about the past and the history of our country. I want to provide a meaningful experience for my Kindergarten students to learn about the states, country and it's leaders.

I want my Kindergarten children to learn about time and space as an introduction to the concepts of history and geography.

They should learn to distinguish past, present, and future time in their own lives and practice exploring who parts of American and it's leaders.

I want my Kindergartners to learn about national holidays and the stories of the people whose contributions we value enough to commemorate. In providing these lessons, students will learn about courage, heroism, and justice by studying famous examples from U.S. history.
