This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are a diverse group of students that strive to improve each day. Our entire school staff has worked hard to promote a culture of reading in school, now I hope to continue that while the students are at home. The pandemic shut down our school at the end of last school year.

I want to ensure students rekindle their love of reading with this classic character, Amelia Bedelia.

I am asking for a variety of high-interest books that the students can discuss, even if it is virtual.

My Project

These fabulous Amelia Bedelia books will be distributed to students. These books specifically have word choice and misunderstandings that will cultivate discussion. The books I have chosen will allow students at a variety of levels to discuss the similarities and differences in the books. I look forward to introducing this classic character to many of my students for the 1st time. My district plans to start the year with an AM/PM model having books for the students to take home will be more important than ever.

These books will allow the students to read wherever if they are learning this year!
