This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have always wanted to create a space in my classroom where my students could "cool down" or relax if they are experiencing a stressful day. However, resources have prevented me from creating the ideal space that I have envisioned. I place an emphasis on students' social & emotional health. Research shows that nature and greens in the classroom make a classroom feel more welcoming and relaxing. With the grass turfs, I will be able to create cool down stations; With the lamps and hanging lights, I will be able to offer my students a space with "ambient" lighting.
