This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Having the perseverance to learn through a pandemic is quite challenging. The children are excited to be back in school even if they have to wear a mask.

My children love coming to school and enjoy learning.

I continue to strive for engaging students in collaborative learning, blended learning, the arts, and technology. We are finding that many of the students are two to three years below grade level in reading. I am requesting art materials to support projects that connect to reading.

Students come from diverse homes in northwest Fresno. I am building the future for our next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs. After so many years of not being engaged inside the classroom,​ students are starved for opportunities that engage them in their learning. Many of the students are lonesome due to divorced, separated, and working parents. When the students are engaged in their learning, they are at ease and in another zone of happiness. It takes a special learning environment to compete with gaming.

My Project

During the pandemic, it has been quite a challenge to help children keep focused inside the classroom. We never know if they are going to be sent home because of too many COVID-19 cases. Our city currently has a lot of cases, and the school district is considering closing the schools again for ten days. This causes extreme uncertainty and worries for the children.

Engaging in the arts has always been a great way for children to ease up on their worries and allows them time to escape from thinking about their problems.

Providing watercolors for our classroom will help support their writing as well.

I am also requesting whiteboard markers to support engagement with math.
