Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My third graders attend a public school in an urban district. It is a Title I school, and 100% of the students qualify for a free or reduced-price lunch. Coming from an urban district and a Title I school, unfortunately, my students do not have as many supplies and opportunities as students in the surrounding districts.
This year, I have 25 inquisitive and eager students, many of whom are not on grade level.
They include SPED, English Language Learners, and LTSS students, but they are always ready to learn. My students are full of energy and their creativity shines through in all of the work that they do. They soak up everything you put out.
My goal is to make their VIRTUAL school experience meaningful and fun while also setting high expectations and providing a safe, loving environment for all of my students, no matter their circumstances. Your donations mean more than you will ever fully understand!
My Project
This year has been tough for everyone but especially for kids. While the pandemic is hard for adults to wrap their heads around imagine trying to comprehend this as an 8 or 9 year old. Due to numbers rising our students are learning remotely once again. Teaching around the holidays has always been challenging but now that we are 100% virtual, it has gotten so much harder!
That is why I am requesting items that can be used to help keep the kids motivated as well as bring a smile to their face during this COVID learning season.
My plan is to raffle a gift card each week as an incentive to keep them engaged. Each time the students log into a meet, they get a raffle ticket, every assignment they complete will get them a raffle ticket. I am hoping this keeps them engaged in the learning as well as brings a HUGE smile to their face!
