This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are special because our school is a title 1 school and many of them do not have art making resources at home, so art class is the only place they have to express their creativity and learn about art. Having good quality, new art supplies like paints, markers and crayons can help their self-esteem. They deserve to have what they need to grow and explore their creativity through art. Using good quality art supplies for their standards based art lessons will give them extra motivation to do their best and surprise themselves with what they are capable of doing. It will allow us to fill our school halls full of high quality student art work that will inspire the entire school community. They will be able to learn how to use a variety of mediums and gain hands on experience in art making, as all of our art lessons are studio based. We will learn about art from around the world, with a multicultural art curriculum that promotes student self expression and creative growth.
