This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they can choose a location in the classroom that works for them. I try to help make sure students are comfortable and moving to another part of the room motivates them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating and are responsible for their materials. They always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed.
Rewarding students for working hard always gives good results.
Students sometimes do not have enough to eat at home and snacks motivate them and keep them focused when they are hungry. Small rewards like fidgets, stickers and slime also motivate students to work on their assignments. I like to have a variety of options so students can choose their own reward.
