My Students

My class this year has enjoyed learning about the coding through some floor mat coding activity game I bought for them. Now they would like to know how it works with robots. They also are enjoying the i-ready math program teaching them the math part of coding. Reading is a high priority also for these students to be able to understand what they are coding. We have a very diverse community with many different backgrounds.

We are learning how to read so we can understand the directions given on materials we want to use in our classroom.

We are enjoying coding skills and how they work and would like to try using this skill to program a type of robot. My students love to learn new facts about coding and would like to use these skills they have learned by using them with robots.

My Project

I am new to kindergarten and I would love to put new books in our reading library and donate the old books to the community.

I'm requesting a variety of Scholastic books and book sets including Let's Find Out: My Rebus Readers, Best of Grades K–1 Picture Books, Animals, Scholastic News Nonfiction Readers, and a Classroom Library Must-Haves pack.

By getting these new Scholastic books I can give my students appropriate grade level reading materials.

The STEAM reading pack will help us to become independent thinkers. Our school is doing a lot of STEAM activities in the upper grades and I would like to start doing the same with our kindergarten kids.

With all the new reading materials both fiction and nonfiction I wish to get, I will be able to create an environment of resourceful and independent thinker.
