Amazing Race to State Testing Review Transformation!
Help me give my students balloons, amazing race envelopes, plastic cups, snacks, team bracelets, photo booth props, and other materials to help us review for our state testing.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from a low-income area, with more than half qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch.
This environment can produce certain obstacles to education, such as an inability to meet a child's basic needs, working parents who may lack the time or resources to provide academic support, and a whole slew of other difficulties.
While these challenges exist, they do not deter our students from striving towards goals and succeeding in endeavors.
Through our commitment to developing relationships, building supports, and creating a positive learning environment, I continue to see the gap lessen. My school does everything it can to support the needs of our children both academically and socially. Our children continue to show scholarship, purpose, and grit and need a classroom that will continue to foster their growth.
My Project
A lot of students already view school negatively because they find it to be "boring." So imagine it is close to state testing and time to review!
I want my students to feel like that HAVE to come to school, I want them to WANT to come to school.
Through a room transformation, I will be able to provide my students with experience in learning. Room transformations allow a teacher to redo their room for a short period of time to match a unit that they are currently studying. The balloons, amazing race envelopes, plastic cups, snacks, team bracelets, photo booth props, and other materials will aid with making our room transformation dreams come true! The theme will incorporate Amazing Race, which is the new fad for our students. The balloons, photo props, banner, and photo backdrop will incorporate the theme. The spaghetti noodles, marshmallows, plastic cups, and cereal we will be using as brain breaks for the Minute to Win It games. The chips and candy will be used as prizes for each team that completes the daily challenge. All of these small details really help to enhance a student's learning experience and review for our state testing in May!
