My Students
I have had the pleasure of teaching elementary for more than twenty years. My students are my passion. I have parent's most precious commodity - their child! I strive to develop and provide a creative learning experience. Life is full of myriad ways to be creative. However, without the appropriate materials and supplies my lesson will be limited and the experience for students very average. Students learn by doing, creating and experiencing. My journey throughout the year is to create stimulating art activities, which reach all academic areas. I also would like to enhance my reading and literature materials to reach all students in my First grade class.

I have not met a First-grade student who cannot draw, create or express themselves through art. Self-esteem "soars" when a student finds joy within their creativity. Parents are "beaming" when a child shows off their work. At the end of the year, parents treasure their First-grade art portfolio. Projects created are
Abraham Lincoln, George Washinton, Johnny Appleseed and may more.
My Project
Students will learn about famous people and places, then be able to illustrate and create a representation of their person.
Artists can not be successful if they lack the supplies required for the their creation or design.
The art supplies being asked for will be beneficial to all students and promote their individual creativity throughout the year.
Along with the art supplies, I have asked for whiteboards and magnetic letters. White boards are a quick and easy way to have students brainstorm ideas with art or writing before the activity begins. I can quickly assess if students understand the objective of the activity.
