This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help my students obtain these necessary items now during our second half of the year. These resources/items will help my students learn and will keep their little brains functioning during the day.
Being in a low income area school some of my students come late most of the time without eating breakfast due to transportation and other personal circumstances.
I want to be able to provide a few snacks in the morning for them to be able to concentrate during instruction time. I also read that peppermints improve their cognitive performance and increase focus, wow!
My students also need a comfortable "child space" while using their dry erase boards, pencils and crayons when practicing their letters and CVC words during ELA; during math to write their desired results while arraigning their manipulatives. The lap trays will provide that special area they need to work independently as if they were at their tables. The lap trays has designated compartments (giving a sense of ownership) for their glue, erasers, pencils, markers during instruction that prevent student conflict, meltdowns and minimize the movement around the classroom keeping all their belonging secured.
I would like for my students to be able to continue their learning in a more positive and less stressed way. My students really deserve these and more, they come every day with a positive and ready to learn attitude that makes me so proud of each one of them.
