All of our students want to be noticed for good behavior. In my classroom, we like to acknowledge and focus on good behavior. My classroom uses a system we call "Class Cash." When students are behaving in a positive way, they can earn 'cash.' Positive behavior includes: coming in quietly, staying on task, being helpful and kind, raising their hand to speak, participating in class, etc.
At the end of each quarter, we have a "Class Cash Store" and students get to come to the store and spend the 'cash' they have earned throughout the quarter.
I am asking for incentives to put in the Class Cash Store that my students will be excited about. This classroom management strategy has completely transformed the vibe of my classroom. Instead of focusing on negative behaviors, we reward positive behaviors and this encourages all my students to want to do better. I have chosen prizes that my students have said that they would love to see in the store.
