My Students

My students were not able to finish preschool due to the pandemic. Last year, they had to participate in distance learning every Friday. Now that they are in first grade, they are a lively bunch who love to learn. Their favorite way to learn is with hands-on projects and activities.

At the beginning of the year, over half of my class tested below grade level on the Acadience literacy test.

We are working hard, but many of my students are still struggling to master basic literacy skills.

My Project

A lot of the materials I requested are basic supplies needed for writing like pencils and paper. I plan to use some of the writing materials in my classroom for individual students. Additionally, I would like to create an amazing writing center in my classroom with shared supplies.

I would like to entice some reluctant writers with flashy, smelly, and colorful writing instruments.

I hope that students will be so excited to use the new materials that they will write, write, write! The increased practice will improve their wiring skills.
